The Gathering Place Mission
The Gathering Place Mission in Georgetown, Kentucky, is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency shelter, hot meals, and support services for individuals experiencing homelessness. Georgetown First United Methodist Church partners with the Mission by helping provide meals and offering a compassionate “hand up” approach to those in need.
Our church prepares and serves home-cooked meals at the Mission on the third Sunday and fourth Thursday of each month. As each meal date approaches, the ministry leader sends an email or text with a list of meal needs. Volunteers can participate in a variety of ways, from purchasing drinks and condiments to preparing simple dishes using provided recipes.
This ministry offers a meaningful opportunity to serve our community, share God’s love, and make a difference in the lives of others. If you are interested in participating in this ministry, please contact Becky Snodgrass.
