Georgetown First United Methodist Church supports the Amen
House's Sack Lunch Program
Georgetown First United Methodist Church is a primary supporter of the Amen House Sack Lunch Program. The Amen House is a non-profit organization that provides food, clothing and other support to the needy in Scott County. Their sack lunch program provides free sack lunches to anyone requesting them at their food program location at the junction of Washington Street and Paris Pike in Georgetown, KY.
Georgetown FUMC became involved in supporting the program when it rapidly expanded in the early 2020's. We have two teams of church volunteers that meet on Sunday Mornings and Tuesday afternoons and make sandwiches from food provided by the Amen House. Our teams make 800-900 sandwiches weekly, about 3500 monthly and about 250,000 to date. If interested in volunteering, please see Bob Moeller or Harold
Cudd.
